Southern Luzon State University, through the faculty members of Bachelor of Arts in History, recently established a partnership with the Lucban Artists Guild and Lucban Historical Society to house one of its exhibits at the third floor of Hermano Pule building, May 6, 2021.
The said exhibit which will be available for public viewing after the Pahiyas Festival celebration this year is an extension of the exhibit currently housed at Escuela Pia. The said exhibit at SLSU will feature artefacts from Mt. Banahaw and the work of Lucbanin artists.
According to Prof. Wendell Pangilinan, the partnership was spearheaded by SLSU with Councilor Jojo Raneses of LAG and LHS to help preserve the material culture of Lucban, Quezon and to provide another venue for students of SLSU and the community to learn about the history of the municipality.
The said partnership is planned to be formalized through a proposed Memorandum of Understanding between SLSU, LAG, and LHS in support of the Harmonized National Research and Development Agenda of the preservation of extant cultural heritage.
