SLSU Extension safeguards community from COVID-19
Southern Luzon State University conducted an extension activity on the production of alcohol as part of its CHED-funded COVID-19 mitigation research projects, March 2021.
The extension activity aimed to train lambanog makers in Quezon province on the production of alcohol, as an alternative to commercialized alcohol brands, in the face of scarcity and skyrocketing alcohol prices. The project was made possible through the collaboration of three colleges, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Teacher Education, and College of Administration, Business, Hospitality, and Accountancy.
The primary proponents of the proposal were Dr. Doracie B. Zoleta-Nantes, Dr. Melanie S. Cadao, Prof. Irene Irna Lomibao, and Mr. Wilfredo Barrera, Jr., among others.
Another COVID-19 mitigation project was also conducted by the institution to help in the scarcity of Personal Protective Equipment of essential workers and medical frontliners in Quezon province.
