SLSU establishes partnership with LGU Infanta for HAPLAS
Southern Luzon State University established a partnership with the Local Government Unit of Infanta, Quezon for its institutional extension program Helping Alleviate Poverty of LGBT through Amplfying Skills (HAPLAS), 26 March 2021.
SLSU conducted an initial interview with the mayor of Infanta, Quezon, Hon. Filipina Grace R. America and the members of the target beneficiaries of the said program.
The extension program is led by Dr. Leomar C. Miano, Prof. Alex Peras, and Prof. Sarah Dane Lising and aims to provide skills training and development, financial literacy, and livelihood for LGBTQ+ people living in the poverty line, specifically located in Infanta, Quezon.
The beneficiaries of the program are the members of the LGBTQ+ organization Samahang Ikatlong Lahi ng Infanta (SILI). SILI is one of the most active LGBTQ+ organization in Quezon province.
