Southern Luzon State University entered a Memorandum of Agreement with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for the formation of the Quezon Province Industry and Agro-Fishery Board (QPIAFB) at the Quezon National Agricultural School (QNAS) last Aug. 6.
The MOA was entered into by Dr. Doracie B. Zoleta-Nantes, who was also elected as the Chairperson of the Industry Board, and Dr. Isidro S. Lapeña, CSEE, Director General of TESDA.
Some of the roles and responsibilities of the QPIAFB include provision of necessary labor market information to TESDA in aid of policy and program decisions, provision of inputs/signals in the development of the area-based skill map, and lead in the conduct of industry consultations, among many others.
The Industry and Agro-Fisheries Board was formed with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Quezon, Public Employment Service Office, QNAS, Dalubhasaan ng Lungsod ng Lucena, Quezon Provincial Association of Farmers, and Quezon Workers Alliance for Livelihood Training and Employment.
