Southern Luzon State University conducted a ritual blessing ceremony of its Mt. Banahaw Botanical Garden with the elder and Babaylan members of the Dumagat tribe of General Nakar, June 1, 2021.
The said ritual blessing ceremony was part of a Gender and Development program entitled: “Kalikasan para sa Malusog na Kaisipan at Pangangatawan ng Lahat ng Kasarian sa Pamatasan” which aimed to encourage all members of the SLSU community regardless of gender to visit the botanical garden.
The features of the botanical garden include a pavilion for social functions, a 30-minute nature trail around the forest of Mt. Banahaw, a 5-story bird watching tower, and endemic plants in their natural habitat.
The said botanical garden is set to be opened to the public soon.
