Proposed P24-M SLSU Smart Campus Area Network, gets ok from CHED
Southern Luzon State University received the approval of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for its P24-million Smart Campus Area Network proposal in a panel presentation headed by CHED Chair J. Prospero “Popoy” De Vera.
The proposed project aims to address the network connectivity problems experienced by the university in the main and satellite campuses affecting the various online activities in the new normal of its stakeholders.
The proposal was conceived after an assessment of the current situation of the campus area network of SLSU where there are a very limited number of network devices, most of which are unmanaged devices. Moreover, the current network devices can only accommodate speeds of up to 100mbps.
The team who came up with the proposal is led by University Registrar, Prof. Mariebeth P. Seño, with the following project members: Prof. Device S. Bello, Mr. Reynaldo V. Danganan, Mr. Marvin Joseph J. Castro, Mr. Jedd Wilzon G. Borgonia, and Mr. Milton D. Gaelo.
