Official Message of the University President on the Celebration of Pride Month
Watch Dr. Doracie B. Zoleta-Nantes, University President, deliver her message of solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community in their celebration of the Pride Month.
“We continue this advocacy of providing gender inclusive and sensitive services to our stakeholders. As such, I encourage everyone to become vigilant against and call out gender discriminatory language and behavior in the workplace. We cannot allow our LGBTQIA+ students and co-workers who have contributed greatly to the institution and the nation to become victims of discriminatory pronouncements such as that of “Sayang Ka,” misgendering of non-binary and trans people, or being forcedly outed by their co-workers or teachers, and even members of their family and circle of friends. We need to always have an open outlook as to how we can stop these inequalities.”
Southern Luzon State University will also be raising the Pride Flag in front of the SLSU Gymnasium beside the SLSU Flag until June 30, 2021 in solidarity with its LGBTQIA+ students, faculty members, non-teaching personnel, and members of the community.
