The mentoring session for Cluster B on undergraduate students – Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management (BSBA-MM) and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) was opened on October 1, 2021 which was facilitated by OIAA and technically assisted by MIS. A brief background on SLSU’s partnership with Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO) and the objectives of the Project on Women Empowerment through Mentoring were discussed by Director Verano, followed by an inspirational message from the Dean of College of Administration, Business, Hospitality, and Accountancy (CABHA) Dr. Chona V. Cayabat, introduction of faculty by the Program Chairs – Dr. Resty P. Umali for BSBA and Mr. Sherwin E. Pernia for BSHM, and presentation of the CESO Advisor (CA) Gerry O’Connor by CESO Project Officer, Mr. Erwin D. Altamarino.
CA O’Connor provided an outline of topics for the mentoring and started with the discussion on the business plan. A template on the business plan was illustrated, and the significance of each part was explained as well. Students were asked to think of a business idea and have it structured in the template provided. The mentor also shared his experience in guiding business organizations and cooperatives in developing business plan. A total of 172 (154 students and 18 facilitators and faculty) attended the mentoring session.
