The Director of quality assurance for health services in Lucban, Quezon, Ms. Lala Salvanera, tapped the Southern Luzon State University for collaboration with the College of Allied Medicine.
Salvanera said on October 27, 2021 that she came to SLSU to encourage the employees and their families to the vaccination enlistment at the Mayor’s Office since the local government unit has enough vaccine from the national government.
She also stated that she came to talk with the Dean of the College, Dr. Dhenalyn Aquino-Dejelo. Salvanera aims to be affiliated with SLSU as a part of the students’ educational units.
“One of the program is for them (CAM students) to be a part of our team being affiliated to rural health center as a part of a place where they can learn from the basics, now that President Duterte approved, through the DOH, that the senior nursing (students) will be allowed to be vaccinators and will be a good help for us to achieve our goal,” Salvanera stated.
She assured that the LGU will prioritize the vaccination of the student volunteers before they can become vaccinators.
Salvanera encouraged the student to volunteer as vaccinators not only for the purpose of learning but for the cause of saving lives.
She added, “I think life is only worthwhile if you become a blessing to everyone. Become a blessing. Be a blessing to everybody.”
