The Commission on Higher Education Chairperson J. Prospero “Popoy” De Vera signed the Memorandum of Agreement for the CHED-funded 24-million-peso Smart Campus Area Network project of Southern Luzon State University, June 19, 2021.
“This year, the first batch of students who did not pay tuition fees will be graduating. We can claim victory for Philippine Higher Education because of this,” said Chairperson De Vera.
Chairperson De Vera also stated that he has visited other State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) all around the country since January to check on the status of Tertiary Education Scholars (TES) during the pandemic.
Chairperson De Vera was the guest of honor along with Mr. Nelson Licup, well-known philanthropist and businessman in Quezon province, in the opening and inauguration ceremony of the Bird Observatory Tower in the Mt. Banahaw de Lucban Botanical Garden.
Witnesses of the MOA signing were Lucban Hon. Mayor Celso Olivier Dator and Smart CAN project leader Prof. Mariebeth P. Seño.
