The formed team plans to utilize the equipment in SLSU Clonal Facility in producing Mangrove Seedlings to help the LGU of Masantol, Pampanga and other municipalities in addressing the effects of flooding worsened by climate change.

The idea of the project originated as the SLSU President, also the Chairperson of the National Panel of Technical Experts – Climate Change Commission of the Philippines, visited Masantol, Pampanga on April 19 along with Masantol LGU and other experts in the field. According to the Pampanga River Basin Flood Forecasting and Warning Center (PRFFWC), Masantol is one of the towns in the province which experiences extensive flooding.
