SLSU Commemorates the Life of Quezon Hero Hermano Puli
The Southern Luzon State University paid tribute to the Quezon Hero Apolinario Dela Cruz, popularly known as Hermano Puli, this November 4, 2021.
Lucban Historical Society and SLSU-CAS History collaborated to make the celebration of Hermano Puli’s Death possible. In front of the hero’s monument, Prof. Arvin Ypil introduced the life of Hermano Puli – how he wanted to study up to his death.
Meanwhile, Dr. Doracie B. Zoleta-Nantes encouraged the audience, especially the students present, to be critical thinkers. She also praised the library’s initiative to provide a wide range of books that inspires the stakeholders, particularly the students, to have a creative mind and analytical perspective.
Furthermore, she stressed the importance of unhampered education which the university will continue to offer.
At the end of her message she encouraged the people to be like that of Hermano – a hero who believes in education and critical thinking.
The program ended after each representative of colleges and campuses offered flowers at the monument.
