NCCA approves SLSU Weaving Project
The project of the Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), “Documentation of the Art of Weaving Traditional Buri Hats and Bags by Women in Lucban, Quezon and Reason for its Disappearance,” was approved by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCAA) Board of Commissioners on Nov. 29, 2022.
The project aims to trace the history of the traditional industry of buri products and to document its demise in the market and cultural spaces of Lucban, Quezon and nearby towns.
The project was granted an amount of Php 200,00.00 under the Board Resolution No. 2023 – 194. The expenses of the project are chargeable to the funds under the Program for Advancing the Value of Creative Excellence: Pagkamalikhain.
