DSWD hails SLSU as CALABARZON Best Volunteer Group
Southern Luzon State University was awarded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as the Best Volunteer Group in the CALABARZON Region in a recognition ceremony held at the Office of the President, June 9, 2021.
The said award was presented to SLSU by Ms. Richelle Marquez-Jael, DSWD Facilitator, and attended by Dr. Doracie B. Zoleta-Nantes, university president; Dr. Marissa C. Esperal, vice president for REPDI; and Engr. Lourdes Quevada, director of the extension office.
DSWD recognized SLSU for its sustained commitment and passion for community upliftment and for its support in the improvement of the well-being of the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.
Most notably, before a national campaign was launched by DSWD to partner with SUCs in 2015, SLSU has already partnered with DSWD in 2013, making it the first SUC to partner with the said department in the country.
SLSU also opened up possibilities for renewal of the partnership with DSWD.
