The Commission on Higher Education Technical Committee for English conducted a remote evaluation of the Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics program offered in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) of Southern Luzon State University.

The evaluation was conducted via Zoom Cloud conferencing Sept. 23, 2021 and was facilitated by Ms May De Mesa of the Office of Programs and Standards Development and Prof. Percival C. Verano, director of the Office of Instruction and Quality Assurance (OIQA). The team of the MA in Applied Linguistics was led by Dr. Aprillette C. Devanadera and Dr. Shiela M. Manzanilla, Dean of CAS.

Dr. Milagros C. Laurel, Chair of the CHED-TC for English, and Dr. Marilu Madrunio, Member of the CHED-TC, expressed their observations and suggestions on improvement that could be made on the program such as the academic publications of the faculty members, R&D Agenda of the program, among others. They also provided suggestions on the various areas of development for the MA Applied Linguistics programs.

The remote evaluation is essential in ensuring the quality of the programs offered by the university to its students. It is conducted to acquire the Certificate of Program Compliance and continue offering the program in the campus.
