CAS, Tiaong faculty represents SLSU in 1st ABT Conference
Four faculty members represented Southern Luzon State University in the 1st International Agriculture, Biosystems and Technology (ABT) Conference organized by the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) via Zoom conference, July 22-23, 2021.
Mr. Wilfredo B. Barrera, Jr. of the College of Arts and Sciences presented a paper he co-authored with researchers from the Indian Institute of Rice Research entitled “Relative gene expression of OsHMA2 and OsHMA3 genes in select rice genotypes at the seedling stage.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Salvo O. Salvacion, in collaboration with Ms. Christine Cel R. Lalusin and Dr. Rosie C. Dulay, presented two papers entitled “Impact of biochar as soil amendments to the performance of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. romaine)” and “Improving the quality and productivity of acidic soil used in corn-peanut intercropping system applied with carbonized rice hull and vermicompost.”
The international forum was organized to convene researchers, young scientists, academics, and other stakeholders. The theme this year was: “Scaling up innovative solutions for sustainable and climate-smart agricultural transformation.”
